This Thursday, WCK’s third batch of culinary school students in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti will show off what they’ve learned at a grand final buffet. All this week, the 18 students have been busy preparing for their last examination before moving on to their internships at hotels and restaurants in the area. The buffet will feature platters filled with the fruits of their labor, including terrines, breads, desserts, and new riffs on classic Haitian dishes.
WCK has graduated 50 other culinary school students in two previous classes. Currently, the second class of graduates are finishing up their internships and beginning their search for permanent jobs. Sixty percent of the students from the first class of graduates are now employed around the Port-Au-Prince area.
