On Tuesday, José dropped his plans and headed to Houston to cook for the victims of the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. Now, José and our Chef Network are helping to provide meals to evacuees currently seeking shelter at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Today, our team of chefs worked with convention center staff and led teams of volunteers to prepare hot meals for 5,000 people.

Several companies have stepped up to assist World Central Kitchen in providing over 50,000 pounds of food for those in need. We are grateful for the generosity of Performance Food Group, Tupelo Honey, Cuisine Solutions, DOT Foods, Ethnica Foods, Barton Springs Mill, and Skinner Pasta/Mahatma Rice for providing food donations, and to Middleby/Turbo Chef for providing equipment.

We are committed to providing more food for the convention center with connections in the food industry and providing chef expertise in the kitchen.

Donate now to support our chefs on the front lines in Houston and follow us on Twitter for updates.

Huge thanks to ThinkFoodGroup, Compass USADel Campo, and Mosaic Express for helping in our fundraising and outreach efforts.
