Big things are happening in the fishing community of Jacmel, Haiti. In partnership with the MM Group, World Central Kitchen is working to put Fishermen First with new technology and expanded markets.

This photo shows the newest technology to improve the lives of fishermen—a fish aggregating device (FAD). This tool allows fishermen to catch multiple fish at once, doubling their fishing yield. It also allows fishermen to spend less time hunting for individual fish and more time traveling further out into the ocean to catch higher valued fish, like prized yellowfin tuna.

These two improvements enable fishermen to increase their income by 400%, which directly impacts 300 fishermen and their families.
