Supporting Haitian Farmers Through Sustainable Moringa Sourcing

World Central Kitchen is partnering with Kuli Kuli Foods and the Smallholder Farmers Alliance to source Moringa, a new superfood, from Haiti. The plant, packed with 27 vitamins and 46 antioxidants is being grown in Haiti for use in the new Kuli Kuli Foods products.

Side-Culinary-Students copyWCK’s partnership with Kuli Kuli Foods and the Smallholder Farmers Alliance will open new doors towards sustainable growing and will act as a kickstart to the Moringa supply chain in Haiti; this same sustainable supply chain model has already been proven successful in Ghana.

This partnership is launching in the form of a Moringa recipe competition. WCK will help tell the story of this new superfood through the competition and how it can be used to improve nutrition worldwide.

The competition will take place from July 14 through September 1. To enter, take a picture of a Moringa inspired recipe using Kuli Kuli Moringa and post it on Instagram. The entrants dishes will be judged by José Andrés and his team. The entrant with the best dish will win a trip to DC and a dinner at José Andrés’ newest restaurant.
