2014 Gout et Saveur Lakay Food & Spirits Festival

This past weekend, World Central Kitchen Executive Director Brian MacNair, Chef Yolanda Banks of Prime Prep Academy, Chef Saif Rahman of Gramercy Catering, and Chef Gregg Malsbary of Malsbary and Associates – all members of our Chef Network – gathered in Port au Prince, Haiti for the 2014 Gout et Saveur Lakay Food & Spirits Festival.

As a fundraiser to support the Hotel School and culinary career development in Haiti, our Chef Network chefs traveled to Haiti as Culinary Ambassadors, working alongside an eager Haitian kitchen team to use 100% local ingredients to create a gourmet 5-course meal at Bistro Quartier Latin in Petionville. Reception to the event was overwhelmingly positive, and pleased guests included Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and Minister of Tourism Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin.
