Earlier this month, World Central Kitchen’s Chef Network met with employees of Pwason Beni, our sustainable seafood restaurant in Santo, Haiti. World Central Kitchen trained employees on selecting recipes that were time and cost effective, and financial management skills.

Chefs offer expertise that reaches far beyond the kitchen. “Chefs are not just artists or craftsmen; they are also business people,” WCK Chef Network’s Dan Traster commented. “I had the opportunity to help Pwason Beni develop a set menu with a rotating daily special, and will continue to work with the team to ensure that they select recipes that are not only popular but also cost effective in terms of labor and ingredients.”

Thanks to the mentorship of World Central Kitchen, Pwason Beni will continue to provide six Haitians with jobs and financial support to Zamni Beni orphanage. Check out more photos from the training below, and join our mailing list to get more updates from our Chef Network’s front lines!
